• That ``Desperate Housewives'' priss - and Marlboro homegal - Marcia Cross got snowed in with her local rels over the holidays and lived to tell about it. ``It was so lovely,'' said Bree Van de Camp's alter-ego backstage at the People's Choice Awards the other night.
       
• That ``Bridget Jones'' singleton Renee Zellweger plans to flee Los Angeles and set up housekeeping in New England after she's finished promoting her new flick, ``The Cinderella Man.'' Zellweger tells W maggie she's sick of Hollywood and wants to concentrate on writing books and music in the New England countryside.
       
• That Worcester's own Alicia Witt - whose flick ``The Upside of Anger'' with Kevin Costner and Joan Allen will premiere at the Sundance Film Festival - is the daughter of Diane Witt, who once held the Guinness Book record for longest hair at 128 inches!
       
• That Josh Seftel of Boston-based Redtree Productions directed tonight's season opener of ``Queer Eye for the Straight Guy'' on Bravo, and it's a real tear-jerker! The episode's Straight Guy just so happens to be a U.S. soldier, Ray S., who is about to ship out for Iraq. The Fab Five want him to be boffo in Baghdad and fabbo in Fallujah. Pass the Kleenex.
       
• That 11-year-old blues drummer Daniel Banks of Pembroke will bring his sticks to ``The Late Show with David Letterman'' tomorrow night. Does Anton know this???
       
• That Mary Burggraff, chief legislative aide to House Minority Leader Bradley Jones, started her workday in a non-conservative fashion yesterday when her honey, Victor Pap III, popped the question during the morning House session. The couple (he's a former legislative aide) met three years ago while working on Beacon Hill. We're told the engagement on the floor of the House was a first. We can believe that.
       
• That comic annoyance Pauly Shore will be alive 'n' kickin' when he comes to the Coolidge Corner Theatre next week for two midnight showings of his new flick, ``Pauly Shore is Dead.'' Unlike Howard Stern's ``Private Parts,'' which chronicles the rise of the King of All Media, Pauly's chronicles his career's crashing demise. (Add your own joke here.)
       
• And that New England Patriots jack-of-all-trades Troy Brown and Stanley Cup cheese Ray Bourque are raffling off a trip for two to Super Bowl XXXIX and donating the proceeds to the American Red Cross' tsunami relief efforts. Log onto luckyfan.org to buy numerous $10 tickets!
